Lavinia Bifulco is Full Professor of Sociology at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy) where she teaches Public Knowledge and Action. Her research focuses on the theory of public action, welfare state and local welfare, social innovation, local governance and democracy, financialization and philanthropy. She is currently coordinating a research project on local preparedness in global crisis.

Laura Centemeri is Senior Researcher in Environmental Sociology at the CNRS (France). Her areas of interest and research projects include: sociology of (e)valuation and environmental conflicts, environmental movements, sociology of repair and environmental disasters. She has worked on post-disaster situations and she is currently doing research on agroecology and preparedness to climate change in agriculture in Italy (with a focus on the permaculture movement).
Carlotta Mozzana Department of Sociology and Social Research, University of Milano-Bicocca https://orcid.org/0000-0003-2217-2906

Carlotta Mozzana is Associate Professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Research of the University of Milano-Bicocca (Italy). Her main research interests include the role of knowledge in decision making processes, the transformation of public action, the forms of social vulnerability and the socio-institutional changes of welfare. She is currently working on preparedness in health and welfare systems in Italy.
